  • 7:15 AM Start your day off right with breakfast at your host family’s home.
  • 8:45 AM Arrive at University of Québec at Montréal (UQAM) for classes; meet your Canadian French teacher.
  • Noon Meet your guide and chaperones for information before splitting into small groups for lunch at a café of your choice
  • 2:00 PM Meet your guide and chaperones for a guided tour of Montreal
  • 4:00 PM Visit the Basilique Notre Dame for a guided tour. The basilica, constructed between 1824 and 1829, is a masterpiece of neo-gothic architecture and the site of Céline Dion’s wedding.
  • 6:00 PM Meet your host families for dinner at their homes. Practice your French, talk about your day, and write postcards home.

  • 3:00 PM Guided tour of the Parc Olympique, including its Olympic swimming pool, and maybe catch a glimpse of the Expos practicing!
  • 4:30 PM Visit Mont Royal, for which Montréal is named. Dominating Montréal’s landscape, Mount Royal offers a beautiful view of the city.
  • 6:00 PM Meet host families for dinner and an evening of practicing French.

  • 2:00 PM Take a Self-Guided tour of Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal.
    Discover the masterpieces of the permanent and temporary collections. See some of the works you studied in eighth grade French and apply your knowledge of Impressionism.
  • 4:00 PM Learn the basics of the Latin Salsa and work up a sweat at the Saint Tropez Ecole de Danse.
  • 6:00 PM Meet host families for dinner and an evening of practicing French.

  • 4:30 PM Guided tour of the Chateau Ramezay, founded in 1895. This museum presents a major collection of items relating to the history of Montreal and the province of Quebec.
  • 6:15 PM Interactive dinner at the Cabaret du Roy, located in the heart of Old Montreal. Relive the experience of eating in “La Nouvelle France” through waiters and bards in period costume, and opportunities to dance to live music.
  • 8:00 PM Meet host families for dinner and an evening of practicing French.

  • Noon Depart from University for Québec City
  • 1:00 PM Eat lunch on the road
  • 4:30 PM Arrive at our new lodging. The Holiday Inn Select is located in downtown Québec, just minutes from the Old Quebec and main tourist attractions. Check in and take some time to freshen up and visit the indoor pool.
  • 6:00 PM Eat dinner at Le Bonaparte, situated next to the Parliament, in a rustic stone house. Walk along the Grande Allée to get a taste of the city.

  • 8:00 AM Breakfast at the hotel
  • 10:00 AM Eat homemade bread and maple butter at Tante Marie’s country store. See a traditional outdoor refrigerator.
  • 11:00 AM Visit an impressive 83-meter high waterfall at Les Chutes Montmorency.
  • 12:30 PM Have lunch on top of the falls at Manoir Montmorency.
  • 2:30 PM Discover a succession of water falls through Canyon Sainte Anne; cross the falls three times on pedestrian and suspension bridges.
  • 5:00 PM Visit the Musée de l’abeille. Learn about bees wax and make candles at this hands-on workshop. Keep your creations as souvenirs, and taste different flavors of honey in the gift shop!
  • 7:30 PM Eat a traditional dinner at L’Entailleur, a traditional sugar shack on Orléans Island. Dance to the live Cajun music and take a guided tour of the Maple syrup production area.

  • 11:00 AM Take a guided tour of the most photographed hotel in the world, Le Chateau Frontenac.

  • 2:30 PM Visit the Citadel located atop cap Diamant, overlooking the Chateau. Called the Gilbratar of America, the Citadelle constitutes the eastern flank of Quebec’s fortifications.
  • 4:00 PM Return to hotel to freshen up.
  • 5:45 PM Eat dinner at L’Oeuforie, a French bistro.
  • 7:00 PM Attend the Quebec Experience, a multimedia 3D sound and light show. The Quebec experience takes you to a magical world of Québec history.

  • 10:00 AM Learn about the history of shipping through games at the Centre d’Interpretation du Vieux Port de Québec.
  • 11:00 AM Free time to eat lunch and enjoy the Champlain Quarter.
  • 2:00 PM Guided tour at Observatoire de la Capitale. Enjoy the highest observation point in the city, located on the 31st floor of the Édifice Marie-Guyart.
  • 3:30 PM Explore Galeries de la Capitale. This modern shopping center is complete with an indoor roller coaster, rock climbing wall, carousel and many other activities.
  • 5:30 PM Enjoy a guided tour of a traditional Huron-Wendake village and get familiar with the nation’s traditions, past and present.
  • 6:30 PM Eat a traditional dinner at the Huron Village.
  • 7:30 PM Return to Montréal by bus.
  • 10:30 PM Check in at your hotel in Montréal for our last night.
